Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our Site or work with us.
Last updated: September 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how ottolize ("ottolize," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit www.ottolize.com (the "Site") or interact with us, for example by submitting the contact form or booking a call. We're a small, remote-first team serving clients globally, with a particular focus on North America, Europe, and the Middle East, and we've written this policy to apply consistently no matter where you're visiting from.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in a few limited ways:
- Information you provide directly. When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name (if provided), the type of help you're looking for, and your message.
- Scheduling information. If you book a call through our Calendly link, Calendly collects the information needed to schedule that call (such as your name, email, and selected time), subject to Calendly's own privacy policy.
- Spam prevention data. Our contact form uses hCaptcha to prevent automated spam submissions. hCaptcha may process limited technical data (such as browser and interaction signals) to verify you're human, subject to hCaptcha's own privacy policy.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting and form-processing providers may log standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for security and spam-prevention purposes.
- Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, we store that preference in your browser's local storage so the Site remembers it on your next visit. This stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
- Analytics data (only with your consent). The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you're okay with analytics cookies. If you accept, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed and general traffic patterns. This may include your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit, subject to Google's own privacy policy. If you decline, none of this is collected.
We do not use advertising pixels or other visitor-tracking technologies beyond the analytics described above, and analytics only ever runs if you've actively consented to it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and messages sent through the contact form;
- Schedule and manage calls you book with us;
- Protect the Site from spam and abuse;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our services;
- Communicate with you about a project or engagement you've asked us about.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
The Site uses a small amount of browser local storage for two things: remembering your light/dark mode preference, and remembering your cookie consent choice (accept or decline) so we're not asking you every time you visit. Neither of these is transmitted to us or any third party.
If you accept analytics cookies through the banner shown on your first visit, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure how the Site is used, as described in Sections 2 and 5. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's site data for www.ottolize.com, which will bring the consent banner back on your next visit.
5. Third-Party Services We Use
To run the Site and handle inquiries, we rely on a small number of third-party services, each of which processes limited data on our behalf and operates under its own privacy policy:
- Web3Forms — processes and delivers submissions from our contact form to our inbox.
- hCaptcha — verifies that contact form submissions are from real people, not bots.
- Calendly — powers our call-booking widget and manages scheduling data for calls you book.
- Google Fonts — loads the typefaces used on the Site from Google's servers.
- Google Analytics — with your consent only, helps us understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed and general traffic patterns.
We choose these providers carefully, but we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies if you'd like more detail on how each of them handles data.
6. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We don't share your personal information with third parties except: (a) with the service providers listed above, solely to operate the Site and respond to you; (b) if required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights or safety; or (c) with your consent.
7. Data Retention
We keep the information you submit through the contact form for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and, if we go on to work together, for the duration of that relationship and a reasonable period afterward for our records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; see Section 8.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Wherever you're located, we're happy to honor reasonable requests to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. If you're in the EU, UK, or a similar jurisdiction with statutory data protection rights, that may include rights to data portability or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at info@ottolize.com and we'll respond as promptly as we can.
9. International Visitors
As a remote team, the third-party services we use may process and store data in various countries. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be processed outside your own country. We work with providers that maintain their own appropriate safeguards for handling personal data.
10. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for business owners and professionals, not children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we introduce new tools like analytics, as noted in Section 2. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. We encourage you to check back periodically.
12. Contact Us
